Recipes: Dr. Jakes Teriyaki Bluefish

For those who tell us they don't eat bluefish this is the recipe I send them home with.  Years of trial and error with bluefish recipes in the Crowell kitchen landed Jake with this keeper. Give it a shot on your next bluefish, you'll be glad you did! 



  • Fresh Bluefish fillet

  • Soy sauce

  • Fresh ginger 

  • Fresh garlic

  • Brown sugar 

  • Green onions


Cooking Instructions

  • Using a fillet of bluefish caught that day or the last day, remove blood line from back side of meat ( dark section in middle)

  • Place meat on a piece of tin foil and pour soy sauce over fish

  • Using real garlic and ginger, grate an equal amount and spread over fish

  • Sprinkle brown sugar over the top of the fish and then dice green onions on top.

  • Wrap with another piece of tin foil and place on hot grill, cook approx. 10 or until middle of the fish flakes, remove and enjoy!
